What does Somatic mean?

Somatic: from the Greek word soma, meaning body. Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy and assumes the body holds unresolved trauma, and healing involves engaging the body. Sessions focus on the mind-body connection and paying attention to how emotions, trauma, and stress are experienced physically in the body—not just mentally.
